SIP Calculator

SIP CalculatorEstimate Your Mutual Fund Returns & Build Long-Term Wealth

A long-term investment journey may involve more than one fixed monthly SIP. You may already have an investment portfolio, increase your SIP as your income changes, add lumpsum investments in future years, or withdraw money for an important financial goal.

The Hexo Wealth SIP Calculator combines these elements into one mathematical illustration, helping you estimate the future value of your existing portfolio and SIPs, the impact of yearly SIP Step-Ups and future lumpsum investments, inflation-adjusted withdrawals, the estimated portfolio value at the end of the selected period, and year-wise portfolio growth.

The results are based on the assumptions entered and should not be treated as forecasts, assurances, or guarantees of mutual fund returns.

Why Use a SIP Calculator?

A SIP Calculator helps you understand how investment amount, tenure, Expected Return and future cash flows may interact over time.

What could my SIP and existing portfolio grow to?

How may increasing my SIP every year affect the illustration?

What happens when an additional lumpsum is invested in a future year?

How could a planned withdrawal affect the remaining portfolio?

How do different tenure and return assumptions change the result?

What could be the estimated portfolio value after adjusting for inflation?

Understanding the Calculator Inputs

Current Portfolio Value

Enter the current value of your investment portfolio to include it in the calculation. This becomes the starting portfolio value for the illustration.

Step-Up SIP

Choose no Step-Up, percentage Step-Up, or fixed-amount Step-Up to increase your monthly SIP annually. The Step-Up begins from Year 2.

SIP Tenure

This is the number of years for which the portfolio projection is calculated. The calculator allows a tenure between 1 and 40 years.

Expected Returns

Enter an Expected Return between 1% and 20% for monthly rate calculations. Actual mutual fund returns may vary and are not guaranteed.

Additional Lumpsum Investments

Add one or more future lumpsum investments by entering the investment year and amount. Each lumpsum is added to the portfolio at the start of the selected year.

Future Withdrawals

vInclude one or more planned withdrawals by entering the year in which the money may be required, the estimated amount in today’s value, and an inflation assumption.

How Does the SIP Calculator Work?

The calculator begins with the Current Portfolio Value and Starting Monthly SIP.

01

The selected SIP Step-Up is applied annually from Year 2.

02

Additional lump-sum investments are added at the start of the selected year.

03

Inflation-adjusted withdrawals are deducted at the start of the selected year, subject to the available balance.

04

Monthly SIP contributions are added before applying the assumed monthly growth.

05

The estimated year-end portfolio value is calculated.

06

The final portfolio value reflects all investments, withdrawals, and assumed growth.

What Does the SIP Calculator Show?

Starting Monthly SIP

The monthly SIP amount with which the illustration begins.

Total Lumpsum Invested

The total amount of all additional lumpsum investments entered during the selected tenure.

Total Withdrawal

The total inflation-adjusted withdrawals actually deducted from the portfolio, limited to the available portfolio value.

Final Portfolio Value

The estimated portfolio value remaining at the end of the selected tenure.

Net Invested

The calculator determines Net Invested as: Current Portfolio Value + Total SIP Contributions + Additional Lumpsum Investments − Withdrawals

Estimated Gain

This is calculated as: Final Portfolio Value − Net Invested These values are mathematical estimates based on the selected inputs and calculation methodology.

Portfolio Value Over Time

The chart shows the estimated year-end portfolio value across the selected SIP tenure.

Year-Wise Schedule

The calculator provides a year-wise illustration showing: Year, Monthly SIP, Opening Portfolio, Lumpsum Investment, Withdrawals, Ending Portfolio.

Common SIP Calculation Mistakes

Treating Expected Returns as Guaranteed

The Expected Return entered remains constant throughout the illustration. Actual mutual fund returns fluctuate and may differ materially.

Looking Only at the Final Portfolio Value

The final value may not provide the complete picture where additional investments or withdrawals occur during the selected investment tenure.

Ignoring Inflation in Future Withdrawals

A future requirement may cost considerably more than its present estimated value. The withdrawal feature allows a separate inflation assumption to be entered.

Using an Unrealistic SIP Step-Up Rate Strategy

A higher Step-Up may improve the mathematical projection, but the contribution should remain practical based on the investor’s circumstances.

Ignoring Existing Investment Values Completely

Where an existing portfolio is intended for the same investment objective, including it may provide a more complete illustration than beginning the calculation from zero.

Treating Estimated Gain as an Assured Return

Estimated Gain is only the mathematical difference between Final Portfolio Value and Net Invested under the assumptions entered for illustration purposes.

Understanding Hexo Wealth’s Role

A SIP Calculator can help investors understand how different investment and withdrawal assumptions may affect an illustrated portfolio. However, it does not identify a suitable mutual fund scheme, predict future returns or determine whether a financial goal will be achieved.

Understand Your SIP Estimate

Your SIP Calculator result is based on the information and assumptions entered today. Actual SIP contributions, additional investments, withdrawals, market returns, taxation, and personal circumstances may change over time.

Use the calculator to understand how your selected investment and cash-flow assumptions may interact over the chosen period. You can compare different scenarios, review potential portfolio growth, and assess how changes in SIP amounts, investment tenure, or withdrawals may affect the estimated outcome.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A SIP Calculator estimates how a Current Portfolio and monthly SIPs may grow over a selected tenure using an assumed rate of return.

The Hexo Wealth SIP Calculator also includes Step-Up SIPs, future lumpsum investments and inflation-adjusted withdrawals.

Yes. The calculator allows you to illustrate either:

  • a percentage increase in the monthly SIP every year; or
  • a fixed rupee increase every year

The Step-Up applies from Year 2.

It is an amount that you expect to invest during a future year.

Enter the year and amount, and the calculator adds it to the portfolio at the start of that year. Multiple lumpsum investments can be included

Enter the withdrawal year, estimated amount in today’s value and inflation assumption.

The calculator adjusts the amount for inflation and deducts it at the start of the selected year, subject to the available portfolio balance.

Net Invested includes the Current Portfolio, SIP contributions and additional lumpsums after subtracting withdrawals.

Estimated Gain is the difference between the Final Portfolio Value and Net Invested.

No. A SIP is a method of investing periodically in a mutual fund scheme.

It does not guarantee a particular rate of return, maturity value or achievement of a financial goal.

Important Calculator Disclaimer

This SIP Calculator is provided for educational and illustrative purposes only. The results are mathematical estimates based on the Current Portfolio Value, SIP amount, Step-Up, tenure, Expected Return, additional lumpsum investments and withdrawals entered.

The Expected Return is assumed to remain constant for calculation purposes. Actual mutual fund returns are market-linked, may fluctuate and may be lower, zero or negative.

Additional lumpsum investments and inflation-adjusted withdrawals are assumed at the start of the selected year. Withdrawals are limited to the portfolio balance available at that time.

Final Portfolio Value, Net Invested and Estimated Gain are illustrative outputs and should not be treated as forecasts, assurances or guarantees of investment returns or achievement of a financial goal.

Actual outcomes may differ because of market performance, taxation, exit loads, scheme expenses, transaction-related impacts, changes in contributions, withdrawals and personal circumstances.
